Program Detail:
Introduction
Risk exists in all facets of life, and unmanaged risks can lead to catastrophic results. The same is true for software development projects as well, with realized risks causing unannounced delays in project schedule, to sky rocketing costs or leading to project failure and client pull out.
This course aims at equipping participants with a basic understanding of various types of risk associated with software projects, as well as the tools and techniques to manage that risk throughout the life cycle, reducing its causes and impact, and completing their projects on time. Through a mixture of lecture and workshops, this course enable participants to differentiate between hazards and risks, effectively rate loss exposure and likelihood of occurrence as well as correctly categorizing and analyzing risks. The participants will perform hands on risk response planning, selecting the correct risk response strategies and learn about tracking and monitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk Management in the CMMI Process Improvement Model will also be discussed in detail.
